Now Playing
You played 14 hours this week, mostly lo-fi

Example data. Your panel shows your own.

Now Playing panel template

Read from your Spotify, Last.fm or Apple Music account: your number one track as album art, your listening time, your top genre and what you played last. Turn it into a weekly top 5, an on-repeat list, new releases, a genre mix, concert alerts or your podcast queue.

How to read it: the square is your number one pick drawn as abstract art, the big number is your listening time, and each thin bar is one day of listening. Every name here is made up.

Paste it into Hark’s chat. Hark asks about the gold parts, one short question at a time, then builds the panel on your Home.

The prompt

This is the "Now Playing" template from Widget Index. Keep it a Now Playing panel, titled "Now Playing" unless I ask for a different name. Before you build it, ask me only about the parts marked [ask me], one short question at a time, in plain words that fit a Now Playing panel, with two or three concrete options each time. Skip anything you can work out yourself or that has an obvious default. Then build it.

Build me a panel on my Home called "Now Playing".

What it shows: my music at a glance, read from [ask me: my music account]. First, one sentence with the headline (like "You played 14 hours this week, mostly lo-fi"). Then [ask me: what to show] for [ask me: time window]: the top [ask me: how many], each with its artist and play count, plus my listening time, my top genre and the last few tracks I played.

Where the data lives: [ask me: my music account]. Ask me to connect or sign in if you can't reach it. Read only: never play, pause, follow, like, save or change a playlist. If the account doesn't report listening minutes directly, work them out from the tracks I played and their lengths, and label the number as an estimate.

Look: make the face of the panel the design, not a list of numbers. The hero is album-art style: a square cover for my number one pick, drawn as abstract shapes in gold and warm tones (never a real cover image), with the track or artist name and a small "#1 this week" tag beside it. Next to it, my listening time as one big number and my top genre as a small gold chip, with a few thin equalizer bars that show listening by day. Under the visual, one short insight line that tells me what matters right now, using [ask me: the insight] (like "You played 14 hours this week, mostly lo-fi"), with a dot colored by urgency: green fine, gold needs attention, red act now. Dark background, gold #DEAB42 accent, small title. One visual and one insight on the face; any extra detail (the full top list, recently played, links) goes below it, never on top.

Rhythm: refresh [ask me: how often], no faster than hourly. Re-read the account each time and keep only current values; never invent one. Keep last week's numbers so you can say what changed.
Use: glance; open the track, artist or playlist in my music app.
